Soil from Arnoldstein, Austria, was remediated in the demonstration plant in Prevalje. Researchers from the partner University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, will assess hazard mitigation and safe food production on remediated Austrian soil. Setup of the raised beds was made in July 2019 at the BOKU department of Agrobiotechnology in Tullin, Austria.
Delivery of contaminated soil from Austria to Slovenia and return of remediated soil back to Austria was authorized by the Federal Ministry of Republic of Austria for Sustainability and Tourism (Application No. AT 032363) and from the Inspectorate for the Environment and Spatial Planning (Application No. SI 008744).
Envit is partner in the project J4-8219 Gardens with remediated soils: hazard mitigation and safe food production (financed by the Slovenian research and development agency in period 1.6.2017 – 31.05.2020). Leading partner of the project is the Biotechnical faculty of the University of Ljubljana.
